The holiday season is coming up and its time to start thinking about what to serve to our family and friends. Smoking is a great way to add new dimension and layers of flavor to your holiday table.
My husband and I got a new electric smoker this year (good food for the win.) We love to use the smoker any time we possibly can. So its safe to say that at least one side dish will be cooked in the smoker.
Not to mention that we are really looking forward to smoking cheese later on. That will find its way into our holiday gatherings as well.
So, knowing how much we love to use our smoker, I knew I had to put together a holiday season smoked dinner compilation.
These christmas dinner ideas and thanksgiving ideas are going to get your mouth watering and gearing up for a bit of a spin this year! Who knows, maybe these smoker recipes will inspire new traditions!
From main course to side dishes to dessert here are some recipes for the perfect holiday meal.
Beef Recipes
I am not usually a big meatloaf fan, but this recipe looks really good. The mixture of the beef and pork looks delicious, but the cheese.
The cheese it what really gets me most excited for this meatloaf. It also only should take an hour and a half in the smoker.

Every family has their own traditions for special occasions. I grew up having Chili for Christmas Eve dinner and I will definitely be continuing that tradition. My husband and I love chili and smoking it just sounds delightful.
For whatever reason, I never though to smoke it so I am excited to give this recipe a try here soon! The really lovely thing about chili is that it is actually a really quick dump the canned foods kind of meal. You only will have about 15 minutes of hands-on time, which is phenominal.
This would be lovely on the pellet grill while making a side dish of smoked macaroni and cheese as well (featured later). Just make sure to have some cornbread on the side as well! Nothing goes better together than chili and cornbread!
Many may thing that this is not the perfect dinner idea for the holidays. But, it is a unique twist for those occasions when you just need something quick to put together and eat.
It is the perfect way to twist things up a bit. It can get a bit monotonous eating all the rich foods around the holidays. This is a great way to mix it all up!

Pork
There is not much better than a good pulled pork sandwich. I may be a little on the controversial side here, but I would rather have pulled port sandwich than pork chops any day.
The cooking time here is a bonus as well. You have 4-5 hours to either make your other delicious side dishes or to just rest and spend time with the family!
Also a perfect thanksgiving meal for after family football games!
This pork tenderloin looks delicious. Though I would change the hard cider to an alcohol free version, the idea of a cider marinated pork loin is making me hungry!
